THE ST. ANNE'S JAZZ BAND
DIRECTOR: MR. J. GEDDIS
The St. Anne's Jazz Band rehearses Wednesday after school throughout the year. Jazz is a chance for serious players to gain experience in a unique and challenging genre of music. We play everything from Jazz Standards to Funk and Rock and Roll...We have even been known to play some heavier rock like Metallica! In 2016 the Jazz Band won a Silver Standing at Music Fest Regionals, were featured on 104.9 the Beach and recorded with Juno Award Winner Siegfried Meier at Beach Road Studios in Goderich. If you are a Gr. 10 - 12 student who is SERIOUS about your playing, the first round of Jazz auditions take place at the end of June each year. There is a 'by-appointment only' audition process that takes place in September should you be interested in a late audition. This audition is often based on need within the band.

THE ST. ANNE'S JUNIOR BAND
DIRECTOR: MR. J. GEDDIS
Each semester students taking music in grade nine or ten classes have the chance to perform at a concert. This gives all grade nine and ten students the opportunity to experience what it is like to perform in front of a large audience. It also guarantees that every student who takes music as a Junior at St. Anne's experiences a concert performance. If you are a grade nine student and wish to be in concert band in grade 10, work very hard at your playing in your Junior years and join the concert band when you are in grade ten music.

SMALL ENSEMBLES
DIRECTOR: MR. J. GEDDIS
St. Anne's is a unique place. We literally draw on student musicians from all over Huron County. From year-to-year depending on student strengths we often start up smaller ensembles for players wishing to perform at a high level. In the past we have had Violin Ensembles, Celtic Collectives, Rock Band and most recently in 2015 we had an ensemble which included Mr. Geddis and 4 music students who were all graduating and heading to the University of Western Ontario to study music. Small ensembles are typically set up by Mr. Geddis but often involve independent practices and student-directed rehearsal.

TEAM CAFFEINE
DIRECTOR: MR. J. GEDDIS
LIVE BY THE MUG, STRUM BY THE MUG. St. Anne's has some great talent outside of the 'standard' idea of what a music program should offer students. We have tremendously gifted singers, songwriters, poets etc...and we collaborate twice a year on large evening coffee houses. Students have the opportunity to audition and if selected, be part of a 2hr evening concert showcasing the schools top talent. Selected members also attend the famous "Home and Home Coffee House" that was organized by Mr. Geddis and Mr. Esposito (St. Mikes) to allow the Team Caffeine members at each school a chance to perform and collaborate together.
